How long are the
coal beds at a typical firewalk?
A typical firewalk is usually between 8-12 feet long. Some of the
advanced firewalks are 20-40 feet long.
How hot are the coals?
The average temperature of the coals is 1200-1400 degrees F. The
hottest recorded temperature at a firewalk is 2200 degrees F. As the coals
are walked on they gradually cool down to a chilly 900-1000 degrees F.
Why don't people get burned?
There have been many theories that have been disproved. The real
answer is we don't know. For a detailed explanation go to the link
"Theories".
What type of wood is used
in a firewalk?
Incensed cedar, alligator juniper, and birch produce the best coals for
walking on. Some wood produces coals that are sharp or exude sap which are
not desirable when walking on coals.

If I attend a firewalk,
do I have to walk?
No! Firewalking is always optional and there should never be any
pressure to walk on the coals. In fact, one of the most valuable
experiences of a firewalk is recognizing when you should or shouldn't walk on
the coals. People who have attended hundreds of firewalks don't always
walk for various reasons and people who attend with no intention of walking on
the coals sometimes choose to walk. People who attend firewalk seminars
have life changing experiences whether they choose to walk on the coals or not.
Can I just come and watch?
Yes. But you must pay for your seat since space is usually limited.
How can I host or sponsor a
firewalk?
After experiencing a firewalk, many people want to share the experience with
friends and family by hosting a firewalk. If you are interested in hosting
a firewalk, please contact us for information on how to successfully do so.
